There is a limited amount of time one has to file a lawsuit before he/she is barred forever from recovering any money for personal injuries. This amount of time varies from state to state based upon whatever time each State Legislature sets and usually starts running from the date of the injury. Below are the time limits for all of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia.
Do not rely on this list when contemplating whether or not to file a lawsuit. The Smoger Law Firm strives to provide correct information but you must see an attorney in your state for up to date information on when to file a lawsuit. If you rely only on this list you may lose your right to recover any money.
