Baycol Lawsuit

Baycol Lawsuit - Baycol Litigation

On August 21, 2001, attorneys filed with the United States Judicial Panel for Multidistrict Litigation in Washington, D.C. a Motion for the Transfer and Consolidation of all Baycol lawsuits filed in Federal court nationwide.

The purpose of Multidistrict Litigation ("MDL") is to provide centralized management, under a single court's supervision, of pretrial proceedings to insure efficient adjudication of all Baycol actions filed around the nation and to avoid the unnecessary expenditure of time and money in the litigation of common legal and factual issues.

Since the recall on August 8, 2001, more than 90 state and federal lawsuits have been filed against Bayer and other defendants relating to the use of Baycol. As of September 28, 2001, 55 cases were pending in Federal courts, each arising from claims of injuries suffered as a consequence of Baycol. Class action lawsuits have been filed representing Baycol users in every state in the United States and around the world.
